April 11th: Day 3 of “Your First Million Live” Conference: Fireside Chats with the Experts

April 16, 2024 / Ian Gabriel Finch

This lifetime will never come again; it is precious and irreplaceable. To live without regret, we must have a concrete purpose, continually setting goals and challenges for ourselves. And we need to keep moving toward those specific targets steadily and tenaciously, one step at a time.”
― Daisaku Ikeda

Sleep Deprived but Happy…

I would be lying if I said I was not completely exhausted by the end of Day 3 of the “Your First Million Live” Conference. Part of the exhaustion, admittedly was due to being a local participant. Each day, I traveled from the San Fernando Valley, hoping on the Blue line from Burbank to the  LA Metro Red Line with an article for my blog literally pouring out of my head both on the way to the conference and on the way back. I did not waste a moment in travel time. The great thing was, those were articles not pertaining to the conference other than to say how much the conference was awakening the writer in me.

Staying Committed

When I got home, I had to give Rusty a little loving as well as a walk to poo and pee outside and not on my carpeted apartment floor. Once done, I sat down and tried writing my articles about the conference that needed to be posted for the Tuesdays and Thursdays schedule for that week. Hey commitment means commitment. I didn’t want to stop posting to the blog because I was attending the conference. Somehow that would feel like a betrayal of everything I was learning. In fact, I found myself wanting to write more and having to literally turn off my computer and try unsuccessfully to sleep so I could make it on time to each valuable day of the conference.

No Gym But Lots of Adrenalin

I wish I could say I maintained my MWF workout routine at LA Fitness. Unfortunately, that was not even remotely possible. In fact, I am going to have to find some abbreviated exercise routine while on the east coast so I don’t totally de-rail my fitness goals. I recognize now, that these goals are more important now more than ever because I am going to have to increase my stamina if I want to accomplish many of the goals that are arising from this conference.

Forgive me, I digress, this conversation is for another article. The rest of the exhaustion came from the adrenalin factor of being at the conference and listening to so many experts sharing techniques on Day 2, followed by Day 3 full of fireside chats with experts who were well past their first millions and heading toward or already reveling in the billion dollar range.

Need processing time

Arlan Johnson gathered a fantastic line up for the final day of the “Your First Million Live” conference. Day 3’s fireside chat guests included such experts in their fields as: Sheila Johnson, Rachel Rodgers, Lamar & Ronnie Tyler, Dean Forbes, Gary Vaynerchuk, Lauren Chan, Suneera Madhani, Teri Ijeoma, and Rich Paul.  Each of these fascinating individuals spoke with a passion and enthusiasm for what they do.

Please note that this article does have links to websites where I got some of my information. I also have Amazon Affiliate links. If you choose to click on any of the Amazon Affiliate links and make a purchase I will receive a commission at no additional cost to you.

I will more than likely be processing lessons learned from these guests specifically and the conferences generally for weeks to come. However, one thing Lamar Tyler said stuck with me. As much information and networking that was able to be done at the conference, focus on just one nugget that resonates with you and run with it. To be sure, that’s not an exact quote- more a summary of what I felt he was saying that resonated with me.

Lessons learned so far…

To say I had a blast at this conference would most certainly be an understatement. Arlan Hamilton is a genius. She spoke to a bunch of minority dreamers and got them to see that they have the right to dream and go for their goals as much as anyone else on the planet.

Confidence to take the next steps

Inspired by the speakers, I have my nugget to focus on. I also have the determination to keep moving forward no matter what.

Thanks to this conference, my “imposter complex” evaporated. I see myself as a small business owner. I see myself as a creative entrepreneur and as a professional writer. Now more than ever I am determined to make Seeking Spirit Entertainment LLC, www.IanGabrielFinch.com and my fiction writing successful each in their own right. Their level of success is only limited by my imagination.

I cannot wait to see what unfolds next.
